Anatoliy Byshovets has told the Russian football union to secure the stadiums and has commented on the Zenit St. Petersburg’s upcoming UEFA Champions League game against Malaga CF
The match officials had to abandon the latest Russian Premier League tie between Zenit St. Petersburg and Dynamo Moscow at Arena Khimki on Saturday after the fans threw a large number of firecrackers on the pitch.
According to the rule books, the match officials have the authority to terminate the meeting for a while or abandon the proceedings at any given time of the match, considering the actions of the fans that can cause serious injuries
to the players on the field.
A similar incident happened to Dynamo’s goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anton-Shunin-c6283, who was fortunate enough to escape what could have been a long-term injury after he was being targeted by the fans.
Thus, Alexey Nikolayev abandoned the match in accordance with the given rules as the behaviour of the fans was inadequate, intolerable and could have lead to even more serious consequences.
And this is not the first time since the Dinamiki fans have let the image of Russian football down. They hit their own players with paintball last month after the Moscow-based club failed to produce them favourable results.
Famous Russian football analyst, Anatoliy Byshovets, has blasted the racist fans and urged the Russian Football Union to take necessary measures against the intriguing and raging fans.
“The worst thing is that we have given the football at the mercy of these people, allowing them to come to the stadium unchecked and do not tend to punish them if they were found guilty for their ugly actions.”
“I attended a lot if matches while working in the UK. They have a very friendly atmosphere there. But sadly, our fans need to be more cultured and disciplined.” The former Shakhtar Donetsk man was quoted as saying.
While commenting on Zenit St. Petersburg’s upcoming UEFA Champions League’s group stage match against Malaga, Byshovets insisted that the Spanish outfit is likely to progress to the knock-out stages after defeating the St. Petersburg
club at Petrovsky stadium.
