  1. She's just a kid and had to follow what the adults told her, she has no other choice.

But I do admit it requires a lot of courage to cheat more than 6 billion people without stage fright, she could be a excellent actress when she grows up.

  2. Hi,

Yes, that was uncalled for. Remember China is not known

    for human rights.

  3. The little girl in question has said that she doesn't mind at all and that she feels that since everyone got to hear her voice, she is satisfied with the decision. Why not check out all the facts before condemning. It's not like Dubya wouldn't do something like that.

  4. the director has to right to put whoever he sees fit on the stage.

    SUCK IT UP

with the fire work, please think for a second, just for one short second, do you think the helicopter will go airborne when there are cannons on the ground ready to fire fireworks at it?

how stupid can you be to not understand that???

  5. No, what is mean is people saying one child is a fraud and another child is unattractive. That's what I call mean. C'mon, these are just children. They are neither fraud nor unattractive. Why won't people stop calling that girl unattractive?

What really happened was first they picked a girl to appear, then they got another girl to sing for her. It did not happen the other way around. People are making it seem as if the singer was picked first, and then not allowed to appear. No, they first picked the child star to appear, and she rehearsed. Then later they thought her voice was too childish. Ironically, the younger girl had a more mature voice.

  6. Does it really matter? They put on a good show and the 7 year old girl had a good sing voice.

I guess hollywood stars don't fake the talents??

Why don't we ask Britney Spears about lip syncing?

  7. i don`t think it was China`s fault . you guys on yahoo answers should stop **** talking about the chinese people .

  8. h it is all about advertising..

  9. Why are you addressing this to China? Not everyone in China agrees with this decision. In fact a large number of people are absolutely livid that it happened, including me. However, some people before me are correct about the community before self mindset that defines Chinese people. It's different from the way Westerners think, but it doesn't make it wrong or bad. In this case however, while I understand what they were doing, I don't think it was necessary at all. There is definitely some little girl out there they could have found in the huge population that has both the cute face and singing talent. Finally, I'd just like to point out that this is not a China thing, it's a human nature thing. All you have to do is look at Hollywood and who gets rich and famous. Don't pretend that superficiality doesn't figure into that picture...worldwide. They've even had Pavarotti, a man of pure talent, lip sync during one of the past Olympic ceremonies. It doesn't make it right, but it should make it easier for you to understand why.

  10. they wanted to keep face, but it backfired this time. they should hang their heads in shame

  11. that's awful

    i mean it's a poor little girl

just let her have the joy of being in something so extraordinary

  12. What was the question, sorry?

Yes, Chinas bad. Nothing we say can undo anything now. Would you have gone Awwww, to an ugly girl? Probably not. China was going for the big Awww factor and not everything can be or look perfect.

I thought the opening ceremony was good anyway. Fake or not.

One question, why did the Americans hold up the parade by 25 minutes? Its as a group people, not single file.

  13. How do they think that that little girl who sang is going to feel when she is forever known as the girl with the beautiful voice who was too ugly to be seen in public. Shame on you China!

  14. I know, I agree with you.  Excuse me, but this is called show business.  China isn't the only country doing that, but also America.

  15. It is like the old day movies where the beautiful actress will lip sing and someone with a beautiful voice did the actual singing.  It's putting the best combinations.

It also show the cultural difference of China where the team is more important than individual. Community good before self.

About the 29 footstep fireworks, it is not fake. It is real.  But the footage you see is digitally imposed/overlayed (probably from earlier rehearsal images). That means if you were in Beijing you will actually see the 29 foot steps fireworks on the street.

The reason they gave for digitally enhancing the footage was it is impossible to shoot all 29 steps in such quick succession and guess what, "for the safety of the helicopter crew shooting the scene".

  16. Get a grip.

    That's mean! That's mean! What a whiner!

  17. It's all about "face", this is the Chinese way.  The little girl was not the ideal vision of what China wanted to portray to the world so she was replaced with a cuter version.

  18. so tell me about ashlee simpsons.....

  19. Children are cute no matter if they have got bad teeth or not...

Children are not cute then they have cthulhu tentacles growing out of there mouth and can spin there head like in "The exorcist"

  20. OH please! that little girl was cute and it was a good show. Why can't people just admit it was a good show!
