C.J Wilson talks openly about Zack Greinke – MLB Special
When news broke about Zack Greinke’s new beginning with the Los Angeles Dodgers, many were surprised that why he signed with the Dodgers after receiving a handsome long-term hefty deal from the Los Angeles Angels.
Greinke was part of Angels’ roster of 2012 Major League Baseball season but despite getting a potential re-signing offer, he signed with the Dodgers for next six years worth $147 million. This twist surprised many however, the Angels starting pitcher found
no surprise in it that his last season’s teammate now has joined the Dodgers.
"His agent was very adamant early in the negotiations that 'We're going to get the biggest right-handed pitcher contract ever, That just sets up the vibe that they are going to get some ridiculous amount. You have to make good decisions in the front office.
It was totally understandable," Wilson said and explained about Greinke and his potential signing with the Dodgers.
Wilson also added that he heard a slight speculation early in the season about Greinke that he will be joining another leading team in the offseason while now he feels no surprise over this blockbuster deal.
In the meanwhile, many in the league are now eying on Greinke and Dodgers new relationship. Dodgers’ with some huge offseason signings are showing their potential thrust to other leading Major League teams. Their management briefly assessed all possible
factors which were directly related to this deal. In the end, the Dodgers’ management did what was in their best interest and gave Greinke a six year deal.
"We've done what we intended to do, I don't think anything else is imminent. I don't feel like anything else is pressing. I don't feel like anything else is required," Dipoto said.
Greinke, now with the Dodgers, is getting a huge chance to prove his game. Last season, he did a good job on the mound by throwing consistently but at the end of season, he lost his pace and showed slight loop holes. However, with a new team and into a fresh
season, Zack Greinke should unfold his offensive game and take the Dodgers to another level.
