C. J. Wilson weighs heavily on chance to play for the Texas Rangers again
While C. C. Sabathia will not be on the free agency any more that means C. J. Wilson is one of the most sought out stars in the Major League. The free agent ball thrower has been with the Texas Rangers for a long time now and he has developed as a premier
ball thrower in the last two seasons. Though his stance on signing back with the Rangers was not discussed openly during the season, Wilson has come out on Tuesday, November 1, to say he expects to sign back with his club.
Wilson has been gaining steam in the recent years and he is regarded heavily as a star pitcher for the Rangers. He was 15 – 8 in 2010 with an earning runs average of 3.35 in 2010. In 2011 he was 16 – 7 with an earning runs average of 2.94. His recent comments
will play a good motivator for the Rangers’ bid to sign him back.
"There's a great chance because I like it here and I've won here," Wilson said. "I've proved that I can be a good pitcher here. There have been a lot of people over the years that have said it's impossible to pitch here in Texas and look what we did here
on the rotation — we went out and won a bunch of games and threw a bunch of innings and did stuff that no other organization can say … not even the mighty Red Sox or Yankees. They didn't do what we did.
The ball thrower went on to mention his teammates, namely; Elvis Andrus, Nelson Cruz, Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler. He emphasized that the club would need to communicate with him on what they were planning for the long term.
The four mentioned players will have contractual negotiations creeping up within the next two years. Hence, Wilson wants to be sure the club is willing to go the extra mile in securing their long term human capital.
Wilson told the press that he thought the club would let him know on what the management was planning to do with the mentioned stars, in the long run.
The pitcher went on to say that this would give him all the confidence he needs to know the club will go on winning in the seasons ahead.
