Question:

C.S.I. and education?

My sister is interested in doing something like what the characters do on C.S.I.. Not in the lab, but out in the field. We have no idea how you would go about doing this. So we are curious what kind of education you need, what degree it is, and what job experiences are needed.

Thanks. :D

  1. A friend of mine got a degree in forensic anthropology and a job as a crime scene technician. I talked to her on the phone shortly after she got that job. She said, "I saw my first body, and I didn't puke!"

I was so proud of her!

  2. stuff in forensic science... if that helps :)

  3. It is forensic science, and the best way to find out is to call the police dept, and tell them what you said in your question.  Ask to speak to a CSI and ask them what their degree is in and how they went about getting a career in CSI.  I know for a fact that you can work your way up in the police dept. from crime scene collection, etc.  and that some departments will help pay for the schooling.
