Question:

C-Section not an option?

Is there ever a circumstance in which C-Section can be detrimental to the health of a mother?

I ask this because I've heard that abortion is sometimes an option put on the table if delivery could be deadly to the mother and child, and I am curious to know why C-Section would apparently be put off the table. Thanks.

  1. Wnen there have been too many c-sects there is a reluctancy to perfom more c-sections.

    Scar tissues issues

  2. Not positive, but maybe if the mother had hemorrhage problems? It is major surgery so there's risk factors like any other major surgery.

  3. I don't know the answer but I know that if I were lying on the table and was told that I would die if I gave birth to the baby then I would kiss everyone good bye and be on my way. I would not choose my own life over that of my baby, even if it meant we would both die instead of just the baby. If they had to reach through my ear to retrieve my baby safely then so be it! As a mother you do what it takes, even if what is taken is your life.

  4. If a baby is viable then a c-section may be done early in the pregnancy to try to save baby and mom both but most of the time woman find out really early into the pregnancy that the pregnancy is a danger to them so then an abortion would be the only option to save their life (like my sister needing cancer treatment right after finding out she was pregnant).  C-section are risky even when a woman is in perfect health, it is a major surgery.
