C-Section scar opening after 5 years?

Last night I was stretching and noticed a stabbing pain where my c-section scar is, I have two one is 10 years old and the other is 5 but they are basically right on top of one another.

So, I went to take a look and it looked like it was starting to separate in a couple of places and was oozing just a tiny bit, I didn't really know what I should put on it but since it was sore I rubbed a little bio oil into it hoping it might soothe it.

This morning when I looked at it it looks the same and is I wouldn't say red but really bright pink which it is usually not.

Why would it be doing this after this many years and what should I do? Can I treat it at home or should I call the Dr? Thanks for any advise.

  1. The skin shouldn't be splitting and oozing on any scar tissue sight.  When it starts turning red and getting hot then you have an infection.  Being bright pink sounds like that is what may be happening.  I would call the doctor and if you can't get a hold of him/her then go to the ER.  It is better to be safe than sorry.

  2. i had a c-section to and please go to the er now right now please you cant get an infection and it can be fatal i'm not trying to scare you but it happen to me not that for of years but rush and go  now************************* right now berry and let me know if your ok i'm a MA- medical assintant. please now++++++++++ and call your doctor when you get there.

  3. OWWw!!!  Call the doctor, y even attempt to treat a surgical wound at home?!!!!

  4. I have no experience of this myself but I would say definitely call your doctor and explain what is happening. It doesn't sound right and I have never heard of this before... It is never a bad idea to go see your doctor if you are not sure - better safe than sorry...
