I need help with my homework! What type of reaction is this? I know its not single repalcement or double replacement. What do you call this??

  1. COMBUSTION. Its a hydrocarbon + oxygen and it yields carbon dioxide + water


  2. Looks like a combustion reaction to me... propane and oxygen burning to produce carbon dioxide and water.

    One of the keys to recognizing a combustion reaction is the presence of oxygen by itself on the reactant side and water on the product side... most combustion reactions release water and have to be performed in the presence of oxygen.
