For infantry soldiers who are in the California Army National Guard, where do they train?

  1. It is possible they could do AT at Fort Irwin, or another area could be Camp Roberts, Fort Hunter Ligget, although most of the time they train at their armory.


  2. If you mean Basic/AIT / OSUT, then they go to Fort Benning like all the other Infantry Soldiers.

    As for unit training in CA...Camp Roberts and Fort Hunter-Liggett are the biggies, but there are dozens of smaller National Guard Training area throughout the state in addition to Armories.

    Also, when your unit prepares to deploy you can expect a rotation at NTC (Fort Irwin) or JRTC  (Fort Polk, LA), or another Active Army installation such as Fort Hood, TX, Fort Bliss, TX, or Fort Carson, CO.
