  1. The Cadbury factory at Bournville has a visitor centre that is dedicated to the history of chocolate. Both educational and excitingly portrayed, you can learn about how cocoa beans are grown, how they came to be imported to Europe and made into the chocolate that we know today.

There is also an excellent factory shop where visitors can purchase a wide range of Cadbury products. The tour is optional and not necessary for access to the shop for those that just want to purchase chocolate. A restaurant/cafeteria can be found on site and there is a play area for children. Special features include a 3D video story and an interactive theatre which deals not only with chocolate, its manufacture and its advertising but also provides an insight into the Cadbury family.

Recently, headsets have become available for an audio tour narrated by Sally Boazman ("Sally Traffic" from BBC Radio 2). The average walk around the exhibition lasts about 1 ¾ hours, not including the Cadbury Collection Museum, which is situated outside the visitors centre. Cadbury world contains a play area, two shops, a restaurant, a snack bar and a picnic area. The attraction recommends you allow 3 hours for your visit

  2. Hello,

I've been there several times and I am now 15 and I LOVE it!

To answer one of your most important questions, YES you do get chocolate. You get chocolate at each different stop on the tour. You get about 3 bars of cadbury's chocolate when you first go in and then some more when you get to the ride and so on....

Before you enter the Cadbury World building, if you go round the back (if you get to go round there), there is a little theatre. It has audio animatronics in which tell a story about a fictional Cadbury World. And you have to join in with your buttons (not chocolate ones lol). That's quite a laugh! :D

Upon entering, there is a Cadbury World gift shop and cafe. The gift shop sells everything Cadbury: chocolates, books, mugs, stationary, toys etc. EVERYTHING! lol

When you first go in to the actual tour, you are in a rainforest kind of place. The tour stars off by explaining how chocolaye (cacao beans) were founded. You can wander round on your own free will and look at everything. After this it goes to an old london street. There are many figures around and you can look around there too. You wait for the tv to come on and he explains a bit about what's going on etc. Then you enter into a longish room, where you can watch how chocolate got imported to England (they are like mini 3d screens quite cool!)

I cannot remember exactly where you go in what order from now on, but I know what happens, so I will continue.

Then you go into a theatre with long benches in it. This tells you the story of how Cadbury decided to start making chocolate. And it shows how they made it. This is when the theatre becomes electronic, your seats shake and lots of other surprising things happen. :D

Then, you’ll take a specially created route that takes you through a section of the moulded factory to see how they wrap some of their famous bars such as Cadbury Dairy Milk.

Then, go on the ride! Step into a beanmobile and go through the chocolate bean town. Quite a quirky and cute little ride. Watch out for your photo being taken.

Here comes the best bit!!!! After the ride, you get to the demonstation area. This is where you get hot pots of melted cadbury chocolate (they are gorgeoooouuuussss!) You also get other things to taste. They are different each time you go, I've had toffee with melted chocolate on them, dark chocolate easter egg, milk chocolate easter egg, turkish delights, mint crisps and caramel chocolate bits. All delicious!

After this, you will reach a section called "Cabury and TV". This section lets you go through the actual set of the old Coronation St Cadbury Opening. Not sure if you watch it, but before Coronation Street started, they used to have a chocolate version of the street on before (back when Cadbury sponsored it). You can see the actual set and chocolate figures here. Also you can watch old Cadbury Adverts (like a finger of fudge, caramel etc.)

There is a new section that I have never been to whiuch is called Purple Planet. This is what it says about it: "Purple Planet is a state of the art interactive exhibition, where you will experience chocolate like you never have before.  Chase a Cadbury Creme Egg, grow your own Cocoa beans and wonder in amazement as it rains chocolate." So that sounds like fun!!!

That is the end of the tour, but believe me it's great. You'll have a great day out and eat loads of chocolate!

    Hope this helps you!

And have a lot of fun!!! :D
