  1. Between 15 and 20 songs.

  2. Depends on the songs your playing, like a lot have already said on here.   For example... a few months ago I attended a Dream Theatre concert.  Close to 3 hour show, with a VERY short break, and they performed only 18 of their songs.  Of course, alot of their songs are 11 minutes plus!

My band has played a few shows where we have performed for an hour and a half straight, and our average for sets like these have been 14-15 songs.  We also play some southern rock tunes that are in the 7-8 minute range.

If your were a Beatles Cover band, and only playing from their early years... a good answer would be 30-35 songs for a 90 minute set!

Bottom line.. just depends on the songs you put into the set!

  3. A lot.  Most bands I've been in play maximum 1 hour sets.  45 is the usual club gig.  An hour and a half, you're talking 20-30 songs with banter, working the crowd and retuning.

  4. Depends obviously on how long your songs are but assuming each song is 3 - 4 minutes long, with time in between for audience applause, tuning, switching instruments, and between-songs patter, I'd figure on 20 songs.
