I am from the north and love sweet tea, but don't know how to make it? It is not popular up here and I need a recipe. Any help is appreciated!

  1. Put four cups of water in a pan with four to six tea bags; depending on how strong you want it;  let the water come to a boil with the tea bags; once it comes to a boil, remove it from the stove (if you leave it boiling the tea bags will burst).  Let it sit for about two minutes; pour it into a pitcher with one to one and one-half cups of sugar; fill the pitcher up with water.  And there you have it, sweet tea.

  2. 1-ounce loose black tea

    1 quart hot water

    1 quart room temperature water

    Simple Syrup:

    5 cups sugar

    3 cups cold water

    Infuse loose tea into hot water for 4 to 5 minutes. Strain tea into room temperature water. Sweeten with simple syrup if desired.

    For simple syrup, in a small non-reactive pot combine 5 cups of sugar and 3 cups of cold water. Slowly bring to a boil and add 6 sliced lemons and a few sprigs of fresh mint. Remove from heat. Allow to cool 10 minutes and strain.

  3. 1 cup of sugar per 1 cup of water

  4. To make one and one-half quarts of iced tea, put a quart (that's 4 cups) of fresh, cold water in a teapot or pan or whatever and bring it to a boil. When the water comes to a boil, pour it over 5 small tea bags in a heatproof container. Don't gently pour; let it really splash down on the tea bags. Set the container aside and allow the tea to steep for at least an hour. (Actually you can let it steep for hours, overnight even, and it's just fine.) Then fish the teabags out. You can squeeze them to get that last drop of flavor. If you want "sweet tea," add sugar to taste, and stir it until dissolved. Then add two more cups of cold water, stir, and chill. You'll have enough to refresh and satisfy several people.

  5. I make it in a coffee pot.  We dont drink coffee, so its only used for tea.  Its a 10 cup pot.  I put 2 quart size tea bags in the thing where you put the coffee grounds.  Let the water run through and empty it into a jug.  Run one more pot through the machine using the same tea bags.  Empty that into the jug, add 2 cups sugar, stir, refrigerate.  Serve over ice.  Its gooder than sh*t.

  6. Most of the people I know use 2 cups sugar per 1/2 gal tea, I find that excessive . I generally only use 1 cup { I don't eat much sugar }

  7. I just brew tea and add a spoon of honey to it.
