Which is best to buy for family vacation trip to Grand Canyon plus, price below 270 and has greater performance and quality? Thank You So Much!! I keep trying to compare both, but it does no justice since i am illiterate with all the camcorder lingo!

It depends on what you want to do with the footage once you get it, but product id 10059009 is cheap and a good brand.  It also has a good zoom (37x optical), image stabilization and runs on standard miniDV tapes that are used everywhere.  Just search on the website for it and it will come up.
