  1. As far as I know - the money is still used to fund programmes on the BBC such as their drama and documentry programes.  The BBC is still the only TV company that doesn't get their funds from advertisers per sae

  2. It occurs to me, that as we -the public-are funding the BBC,why do we not have more say in what is produced? Would you go to a shop, hand over money and leave with a bag of goods that the shop assistant had chosen for somebody else?

  3. To put into the ever deeper Top Executives Pension Funds!

  4. It's worth it to have some channels where the programmes are not constantly interrupted by advertisements.

The license fee gives you some idea of how much extra you are paying on your grocery bill, to pay for the commercial channel adverts.

It annoys me intensely when branded products are touted on DIY and personal makeover programs on the BBC ... why should they get free advertising?

  5. Because we are a bunch of mugs.

The scam of TV TAX is an insult to us all.

The myth of No Ads on BBC,, yea right,, you watch the football there's more ads in a footy game then on itv prime-time.

They also say it pays for radio.. well its all a load of rubbish, just another TAX, no more no less.

  6. don't buy one simple really that one isn't it

  7. Because the BBC spends millions of £s of our money on things like the Olympics that were mostly broadcast at night and in the early morning without regard as to how many people tuned in and actually watched it.

Lets face it haw many people stayed up and watched table tennis or weight lifting or any other minor sport at 3 o'clock in the morning.

I'm not saying that it should not be reported but who wants 10-12-14 hours of sport broadcast at OUR EXPENSE where most people have very little interest, even the athletes have either non or little interest of other sports other than their own.

  8. Why do you think it's called rip off Britain?. It's about time we all stood up and said we are not paying it for the biased rubbish the BBC churns out.

  9. You are paying for the best television and radio stations in the world.

Just try living abroad and see the sort of shite comercial tv chucks out.

  10. Oh dear don't frighten the executives from there luxury villas , for peddling the total cr-p they call television viewing . In the world of the blind the one eyed man is king. and can somebody tell me what the h**l has the queen got to do with control of teivision . The monacy in this country has no politicial; power or any other power to control anything other than their dogs of course.

  11. The Licence fee we pay here, does pay for the majority of our entertainment in the UK. - did you know that some of the money goes to Ch4 ?

one good thing the fee brings in, is that it does allow to beeb to be more artistic in in approach, and of course to be inclusive to all.

on the bad side though, it is flabby, up it's own bum journalisticly , instrumental in the liberal social experiment that has failed drastically and people employed in the organization are middle classed and academically educated with very little experience of real life.

  12. It is because we are subjects of a Monarch, thus we must do as we are told.

  13. A tax special to the British mugs, like hundreds of other taxes.

  14. Is it not just for BBC as they do not receive sponsorship for adverts.

    That's what I thought anyway!!!
