  1. I know some people with diesel cars in the 1000 mile club (1000 miles on one tank) that used their cruise control for it.  You get the best gas mileage at 55mph, but people tend to speed up without noticing.  So, you can set the cruise at 55 and that way you'll always be going the most efficient speed.

  2. yes it does . use on the highway and get good milage also make sure your tires are rotated, aligned and inflated at all times. this reduces the amount of friction your engine has to work against. also when only commuting keep your tank at not more than half full , the reason is a gallon of gas weighs about 10 pounds, if you have a 20 gallon tank that means your car will be 100 pounds lighter. also remove anything from from your car that doesn't need to be there. the lighter your car is the less work the engine has to do and the less gas your engine will consume. also hand wash your car to(hand washing conservs water and money) and keep it waxed because the smoother the out side of your car is the easier for air to glide over it further reducing your engines work load and of course saves you gas.

  3. You begin to loose fuel efficiency when you go over 60. Cruise control can hold you at the constant speed and it does save gas.

  4. Yes, since you are not braking and accelerating you are not using as much gas.  What I mean is, it takes more gas to accelerate than it does to stay at a steady speed.  It doesn't make a huge difference, but every bit counts.

  5. Yes it can. With every motor and engine in the world (and not just cars), constant steady speed is very very efficient. That's why hybrids work so well: with an engine going a constant speed, the gas consumption is super effective.

  6. YES!!!! every time u speed up there is a little extra gas put in with a pump ,so the more stable the peddle the less gas ,and the less pollution.

  7. Yes it certainly can so use it whenever you can.

  8. yeah.  When you are manually controlling the throttle, you are giving varying amounts of gas to the engine depending on how hard your foot goes down.  When you use cruise control, the amount of gas used is much more consistent.

  9. Absolutely.
