  1. The Basic Riders course is usally accepted as a substitute for the DMV/DPS/DOT test.  IF your state lets you do it, i reccomend it, it save the problem of having to show up to ride for the test with a motorcycle, AND a car, and getting them both back home if you fail.

In fact I reccomend it even if they make you take their test.  After the class its much easier.

Take the pressure off, gives you confidence for the test and for riding in general. Ask the DMV examiners in your area, most classes are full up until september, but if you are in a warm state you maybe able to get a fall class in time. ask if the BRC exempts you from the DMV test, and if the State subsidizes the BRC.

(Some states do, it allows them to reduce professional examiners, take up less space to have a public riding/driving range.)

  2. no you have to get it from the state dmv but a school could help in assisting you to get it

  3. While your local motor vehicle bureau is likely the one to maintain the records for driving licenses, some locations allow you to complete written examination or road testing elsewhere.  I don't know where you are.
