  1. Check the statute of limitations in your state.  Why were you fired?  There isn't enough information here to answer your appropriately.

  2. 10 months ? I wouldn't bother.  There's a 99.9% chance you'll lose any law suit(s). Law suits cost money. And after almost a year, no-one is going to take your case.

Look in the yellow pages under labor board, or something close to it. You can do it on-line...

    But don't expect anything.

  3. You may not have a case unless you can prove discrimination, harassment or something like that.  Some states allow an employer to fire employees at will.  That means that s/he doesn't really need a reason to fire you.  Try asking for advice at Len Tillem's website, lentillem.com.  There is no charge for one question.

  4. In most states, employment is "at will". As such, they can fire you at any time, with or with out notice for almost any reason.

  5. Lawsuit you have two years to file, so you're fine there.  Filing a complaint with  the Dept of Labor usually has to be done within a year in most jurisidictions, get in touch with them and find out for sure.

  6. Check with a lawyer, depending on the reasons, the statue of limitations is generally a couple of years. Of course it could end up costing you more then you could get for it, depending on lawyer fees ect.
