CAN INtERNET PREDATORS TRACK PEOPLE DOWN?

Question

while chatting on an online game, this one guy was seriously creeping me out. NOt only me for also he was making threats of finding us. I laughed and thought how ridiculous that sounded..he was probably just a kid like myself. But really it sounded creepy-ish. So then that brings to my question..Are people you are chatting with in chatrooms--are they capable of tracking u down somehow?

Just a thought..

He was just trying to creep you out it happens ALL THE TIME on chatrooms. If he tried to trace you then it would only show who your ISP is. The police are the only ones who have the power to find you with a search warrant of course.

Not if you dont give them any personal information, or if theyre really lifeless cyber stalkers, then so long as you dont have any personal information attached to your usename, just dont give anyone information any more specific than what country you live in (they can figure this out if you even tell them what time it is) and youll be safe, If you want to be overly paranoid, sleep with a gun under your pillow...

Yes.

People are not as careful as they think.  They let little bits and pieces out and if someone is paying attention for a long time eventually they will get enough info to figure out who you are and where you live, work, go to school etc.

Kids are especially vulnerable because when someone tells then they are also a little kid, they believe them. Then they tell them anything.
