CAN SOMEONE HELP WITH A MIRENA QUESTION

I had mirena inserted 2 weeks ago and my dr never told me how to check the strings. I tried to feel and felt something like the end of a match. Is that the strings im feeling?

no there is no checking its just if they are too long durring s*x....can your partner feel it is what they are worried about

To start off with, have you ever felt your cervix before? When you feel for your cervix, it will be round and you will be able to feel the opening inside the center. You should be able to feel the strings coming out of the opening of your cervix. It should feel like a fine fishing line, and sometimes it curves to the side of your cervix (so it is not just "sticking out"). I work in an OB/GYN office and we have our patients feel the string after the dr. trims it so they know what to feel for. Most likely you are feeling the strings, but like I said, they are very fine. I think you will be pleased with your mirena.

Just feels like a little wire string.

my sister felt that and a week later they said it messed up and she could have gotten pregnant the whole time ut she probably repelled the fetus due to the messed up IUD
