  1. If its a real medical problem, then you will not be able to stay in. But like the first person said, you blood pressure WILL go up through boot camp, and serving in a war.

  2. yes you can, i have a friend who is still in with high blood pressure and hes on medication...depending on how bad the BP is they might put them on non-deployable status, and also they may be restricted on physical exercise or not allowed at all...and depending on your job they might just stick you behind a desk in air conditioning...

  3. You asked this once. I gave you the answer. If, after treatment of it, your diastolic pressure remains above 110 you will be medically discharged.

  4. I dont know anyone who have not lived pass boot camp that at one time or another did not have High Blood Pressure, but the stress of the service and life in general will do this, and if your deployed ?its really going to go up.

  5. It depends on what your job is in the Army and whether or not your blood pressure can be controlled with medications.  You might be required to change to a different type of job in the Army.  For example, you won't be able to be an aviator in the military if you are on meds for HBP.  But you could probably serve in a non-combat staff position.  Colin Powell was on three different meds for his HBP while he was Chief of Staff of the military.
