  4. I have to disagree and say;

    YESSSS--NYC is in fact one of the few places in America that allows women to bare their bare breast in public areas!! It is legal providing it is not used as a business.

    AS A MATTER OF FACT; A few short years ago a police officer thought he was doing his job, by "Busting" a woman who had her b*****s exposed; needless to say he did not know it was legal. The City had to pay her over a $29,000 legal settlement, for illegally busting her.

  9. The answer is yes. 3 years ago a woman was arrested for going topless in the street. She challenged the city law regarding topless in public and won. Now, I don't know what new laws the city has put in place to overcome topless, but last time I checked it was OK.

    It's against statute, but the statute was struck down by the Court of Appeals (highest court in the state). The law is still on the books, though, and most cops don't know about the court case. You can be arrested for other things that are related, though, like disturbing the peace.

    Note that I am not a lawyer yet and cannot give legal advice. This is an academic answer to an academic question. So don't come crying to me if you get arrested.
