  1. say 'Halt's Maul' or 'Fresse, Mann', but thats both very rude, 'Ruhe bitte' is nicer

  2. halts maul!! beautiful language

  3. Hau ab! "HOW Upb" (the b is like a cross between a p and b.)

    den Mund halten! "dane MUNT HALL-ten"

    "halt die Schnauze" (HALT dee SHNOW-zuh)

    (OW as is "Ow! that hurt!") (a Schauze is a snout, so it's calling the person a pig.)

  4. It's "Halts Maul"... It's more like Shut the **** up... :)

  5. Not sure of the spelling, but I think its "halte dine klapper"

  6. I am American but the way some Germans speak their language these days, I can maybe do it better than many of them: "Mund zu!!!!!!"

  7. it depends on how you mean to say shut up ... usually just using English and saying it is more than enough ... lived in Mannheim for 7 years.

  8. 'Ruhe bitte' means 'be quiet please' if that helps.

    'roo-uh bit-uh'

  9. extreme: "Halt die Fresse!"

    be quiet: "Sei ruhig!"

  10. ''verschlossen'' I think... But I'm not sure

    German is not my first language

  11. http://www.freetranslation.com/

  12. "HOERT AUF!"

    that's what parents usually say when they ask their children to shut up or to stop doing whatever naughty things they're doing. Or when couples argue and they just say that to each other again and again...

  13. Halt die Fresse! (alte) This is definitely the main way of telling somebody to shut their fcking mouth in Berlin. The meanest anyways. You can also say Halt die Klappe which isnt so mean. Another way to shut someone up is to say, Fick dich ins Knee du Hurensohn. This means fck you in the knee you son of a btch and if they understand german they will be surprised and shut up or punch you in the face. Sei vorsichtig!!

  14. "Halt die Klappe"  (Haalt dee clapper)

  15. like they said before...

    the pronounciation is very difficult to describe..

    a little bit more friendly is

    "Halt deinen Mund" if you want to forbit someone to speak, if you are angry.

    [Halt -  with the "a" from car but shorter. deinen -

    dei=die nen= the en like in commen, short..

    Mund - the u sound similar to the ou-sound in you... but shorter. the d like a t ]

    "Sei ruhig" if someone is desturbing all the time. a way to say, be quiet.

    [ Sei like die with an s ;

    ruhig - two parts ru-hig with ru with the u-sound from you again, with the same lenght and hig like hug with and i like se sound of the e from me but shorter]

    the unfriendly way is

    "Halt die Klappe" [Halt -  with the "a" from car but shorter;

    die - the ie sound like the e from me. the same lenght. ;

    Klappe. two parts- Klap-pe --> Klap like clap but with the "a" from car but shorter --> pe similar to the sound from the e of the.]

    "Schnauze" [Schnau-ze --Sch like sh from show, au is similar to the sound of ou from our ; ze - its a sharp s-sound.]
