CANCUN FOR VACATION ?????? ....PLEASE help Please Answerrrr !!!!!!?

Question

Ok so i plan on taking a trip with my boyfriend to Cancun Mexico next year in May. Ive never been on vacation before ever , ive never been on a plane or anything so i dont know too much about it. What i really want to know is how much will we need all together to take a trip to cancun ? To have a good time and not really watch our budget. I mean i was thinking about doing the all - inclusive, but i wanted to know how is it in cancun ? Is it really that great of a time ? What is the best hotel etc.... Please answer these questions honestly. Thanks so much !

I stayed at the Riu Cancun, but wished I was staying at the Riu Palace Las Americas (RPLA). This is the higher end Riu resort and you can use the facilities at both the Riu Cancun and RPLA. I loved the food at these resrots and it was a lot of fun at the Riu Cancun where  most of the activities take place. You might consider an adults only hotel as well, such as The Royal in Cancun, Le Blanc Spa Resort, Sun Palace, Grand Oasis Playa and the Golden Parnassus. Just understand the adults only properties are usually couples and relaxed/quiet. The Temptation resort is a more free-spirit resort where the theme is adult.

I love Cancun for the many resort choices and the restaurants. I usually stay at a European Plan resort because I enjoy eating out a lot. There are literally a couple of hundred Cancun restaurants in the area known as the Hotel Zone, so you never need to worry about finding a decent meal. With that said, if you do not want to worry about your pocket book, then you should consider that if you stay at an AI resort, would that pay off as opposed to not staying at one? Perhaps the best resort to stay at is where you can do both, when you decide you want to do what. The Gran Melia offers EP and AI, just go the morning you want to add on the AI, pay the $100 US per person and there you have it, it's as easy as that.

The other thing that you should do is find yourself a good, up-to-date travel book to take along. You can learn a lot online before your trip, but there's no substitute for having the info at your fingertips when you are out and about in Cancun. You have plenty of time to plan though, so get to it and enjoy the process.

Money depends on what you are thinking of doing. If you stay at an all-inclusive then you don't need to worry about food. But if you plan on going to clubs then you need $$$ for sure!

All good info and tips.  Pick up a copy of Cancun Tips at the airport.  Even though there is treated water on Cancun, wash your hands often!   Also take a box of Immodium for diarrhea just in case you get it.   Take about $1000.  You can bargain with the vendors.

We also stayed at the Riu Cancun and had a blast.  It's all-inclusive and was about $2500 for 2 of us, including our airfare.  

We loved the food there, the pools are great, the drinks are good - it was a great time.  We'd love to back again, and we'd definitely stay at the Riu Cancun again.

We spent about $600 between 2 of us on souvenirs and excursions.

I stayed at the Riu Cancun. It is all inclusive with a buffet and about 5 other restaurants that include Brazilian and Japanese food. It was great. We also took a tour of the pyramids, went kayaking, and swam in a cenote which is a sink hole. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to everyone. The main street with all the clubs was in walking distance from the hotel. The hotel was great too. Wonderful view and a fully stocked bar! I would take (more or less) $1000 for spending money for the both of you. Depending on how long you stay. I stayed about a week and $500 was good for just me. That includes the tours and all the shopping. Hope I helped!
