I have the above camera and i am wanting to transfer my movies from it to the compupter. I have had it for a 4 years. I recenlty brought this cable of ebay for it so i could trasnfer movies. "4-4 pin i.Link/Firewire/IEEE 1394/DV for Sony Canon JVC" . (link below)

I have software that came with the camera for transfering movies but when i plug the cable in my fireport (built into my Asus laptop) it does not find the camera. Any suggestion on how i can transfer the stuff i have filmed on my cam corder (which take tapes) to my computer would be great cheers

I have expanded the "Expand the IEEE1394 Bus host controllers" and then it re=install but no camera found. I am using Windows movie maker but it does not fine the camera. Please help someone!

  1. you need to power on the camera and be sure it is in VCR or VTR mode. This will let the computer recognize it as a tape deck and you can then import from your tape.
