    mummification is a process that spans a vast time period.  cultural and technological changes have yielded a variety of possibilities for the creation of canopic jars.


  2. If you're referring to Egyptian mummification, the canopic jars were usually made of alabaster, at least that is what is exhibited in some of the major museums.
