my car is already insured under my name, however my son drives it about once every 3 weeks. Do I need to tell the insurance company he is an occasional driver????

i know a state farm agent who has his car insured but his daughter who drives it is uninsured. He said that it's fine to not tell them about an occasional driver so long as the CAR ITSELF is insured. Is this Correct????

  1. if he lives with you and drives your car I think your insurers should know, in any case why not ask them directly.

  2. I've gone through the similiar thing -- still a little bit painful, here is the resource help me out.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  3. Well - it depends on a few things - if your son lives with you, he should be listed in the household.  If he is under 25 and doesn't have his own policy, he should be rated on your policy.  If he doesn't live with you and is rated on someone else's policy, then you are fine.

And, if he does live with you - not telling the insurance company is fraudulent.
