Question:

CARPET IN a BASEMENT???????

i have a room in my basement i built out of some plie wood and 2x4s its about 8x12ft with some dry wall on the ceiling its a nice hang out room but all i have is a concert floor we have a dehumidifier in are basement but even with that if i put carpet down i get mold ( black mold ) and fast all i do it take out the carpet and through it out and through some kitty littter down on it ( it drys it out hence no black mold ) but i want carpet what can i do? the dehumidifier is great but i just dont think its doing it

  1. Try using an area rug instead of carpeting.


  2. You need to build a sub floor so the carpet is not laid right on the cement.

  3. I don't care how much people do with a basement, it is still a basement.  you will probably need to yank that carpet up!  xox
