  1. as far as i know its illegal to carry weapons around. try asking the police

  2. The answer is it depends.

It's going to vary from state to state, but if you're carrying them to use them as weapons, you're going to get in trouble.

If you're carrying them around because you have your training bag with you, you're probably not going to get in trouble, unless the police officer is a d**k. Of course, outside of trying to get on an airplane with one in your wallet, the only time a police officer is going to find it is if YOU are being a d**k, or a moron.

Carrying weapons to school is being a moron.

Threatening someone with Nun chucks is being a d**k.

There is a LOT you can get away with in life if you get grey--if you just live your life such that Police don't give you a second look.

  3. Here's the way I see it.  The Artillery shells I shot off last night for my fouth of July celebrations  are illegal to fire off in my state, I never wear a seat belt also illegal, I spit out the window of my car some times which is also illegal, I love to J-walk when a full block is out of my way which is also illegal, I run yellow lights sometimes too if my car is moving too fast to begin yielding which is also illegal, I do U-turns where I'm not supposed too which is also illegal.....does any of this hurt anyone?  Am I a criminal? and by who's definition orther than some currupt a** senator's who made a stupid law in the first place that he himself will not live by.  Laws were only made to be broken dude.  Some laws are ignorant at best and deserve to be broken any way.  What's it going to hurt if you keep nun-chucks in your back pack? ....it's not going to hurt any one or any thing so have it at bro.

In China it's still illegal to kiss your wife in public....imagine that.

  4. I know nunchuck is legal but not sure about shuriken.

    Shuriken search:

  5. Sorry to tell you but both of these will get you in serious trouble for carrying them. Can you say concealed weapons charge? Why do you want to carry them? If you ever used one in a fight you would be looking at an asault witha  deadly weapon.

I also very much doubt that you have trained japanese martial arts all of your life, because your instructor would have covered stuff like this. i think you bought the stuff on the internet and then decided to check here to see if you could carry it.

  6. they are ILLEGAL!!! you shouldn't need them anyway. If you must carry something, carry a fat strong pen or those keychain weights. they will help you as a martial artist dig into the points as well as keep your fist srtong... if it's weak.

Though , at 14 you shouldn't need anything, just a better attitude about avoiding places that get you into trouble.

  7. Hi.

Without knowing the exact scenario that you're talking about carrying martial arts weapons around in it's hard to say for sure...

One of my dad’s friends was pulled over on his way to Karate practice and he had a nunchaku (nun-chuck) on his dashboard.  The officer saw this and arrested him for having a concealed weapon (or some similar charge, I can't remember exactly).

Also, I know because of a call my sister placed to a police department about transporting weapons that as long as you can't easily get to those weapons it is legal to transport them.  I don't know if having weapons in your personal bag would be considered concealed and therefore illegal or if that would be hard to get to.  I do know that the person she talked to recommended transporting the weapons in the trunk of her car.

I live in Ohio so the specific laws may vary from state to state, however I can't imagine that the state of Florida would not allow some way for you to transport weapons.  You're personal bag may be a little bit of a gray area and up to the local authorities if your bag should ever be searched (which is not likely unless they have a good reason to search it).

If you just want to transport those weapons to martial arts practice and back then to be safe I'd leave them in your personal bag and transport it in the trunk.  If you take your personal bag anywhere else I'd simply not bring them, but if you're going to anyway just keep the weapons out of easy reach.

If you walk to martial arts practice any distance with your personal bag then it's probably not a good idea to carry the weapons with you.  Some people will anyway but others will simply leave them at the school which is the all around safest way to go about it.

The best thing you can do is call your local police station and explain what you what to do and find out how you can do it legally in your state.

(Or if you carry these weapons around for personal defense I'd choose a non-conspicuous object like a flashlight that could be used as a weapon.  Some flashlight makers even design their flashlights to be used as weapons for personal defense.)

    I hope this helps :)
