a cat-lady neighbor has moved out of her trailer across the street, abandoning her precious strays that she feeds. this has lead to the strays crossing the street to our yard, pissing, shitting, and eating our dog's food! it's only been one day without their cat-lady and already they're becoming our problem! I LOVE ALL ANIMALS, but these are diseased animals, and i don't need them to pass on a sickness to my healthy animals. it's like the freedom to feed the dogs outside has been stripped as our right. this is very frustrating because we only have so much space in our trailer with 2 little ones, 2 dogs, plus my husband and i. it's convenient to feed them outside then our daughters don't try to eat it too. these strays are a serious inconvenience. they'll probably come live over here if something doesn't happen to them. also they are a known problem in our neighborhood.

has this happened to you with someone else's strays? how can i rid of them without costing me money? i need a fast and effective solution so my yard doesn't become a litter box. ***ex. they made such a litter box across the street out of those yards that a cable guy fell in the yard and had nothing but cat p**s and **** all over him. he had to go home and wash up! it's nasty.

  1. Forgotten friends is a small non-profit all-volunteer organization dedicated to the protection and placement of homeless, abandoned, abused and neglected dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and other animals. We provide a safe, secure, and healthy environment for a small number of animals waiting for a loving, caring adoptive home. We receive no payment for our efforts, only the personal satisfaction and sense of accomplishment we feel when placing a rescued animal into a loving home forever. Please save a pet with donations or contributions. We will use donated money to open a pet rescue in the Windham area, to try to improve the lives of local animals, and to make a real difference. We also accept aluminum cans and pet supplies. For more information or to schedule a pick up of donations, or to schedule volunteer time, please call us. For the betterment of the lives of stray, abandoned, and special needs cats and dogs, our goal is to;

    *Open an animal shelter in the Windham area

    *Find loving homes for animals in need

    *Provide shelter, food, and medical necessities

    *Give loving care and companionship for as long as needed.

    For donations and contributions;

  2. This is a problem for your local animal control. It is there job to manage stray pets, and do what they deem necessary after their removal (ie veterinary attention, humane societies, or euthanasia),

    If they fail to answer the call, your humane society may have have-a-heart traps you can borrow to catch them, and bring them hack to the shelter.

  3. Shelters do tend to charge for bringing in strays. It isn't free for them to treat and keep them. If you don't want to spend any money, you'll need to call animal control. But like the previous poster said, animal control will most likely euthanize all of them.

    Since you live in a trailer park it is likely that you dont have the option of putting up a fence, but what if you bought a large dog kennel to feed your dogs in. Just leave them in there for about 30 minutes with the food, and then let them out to roam. The cats wont be able to get in and your dogs can still eat outside. I don't know how big your dogs are, but I looked up a couple options.

    You could also use those as inspiration and build your own with supplies from a hardware store. This still isn't free, but less than taking them all to a shelter, and better than sending them all to their death.

    You could also speak with your old neighbor about luring them over to her side of the street. Maybe they will stay their if she continues to feed them.

    Good luck! ♥

  4. You should really talk to a humane society or something about these cats.  Why don't you put up a fence or soemthing?

    If they have been a problem for a long time, please try to get them into a shelter or something.

    I don't know what you mean by "get rid of them".  Are you talking about killing?  Well, DON'T.  Are you talking about moving them?  Well, DO!

    So, go call up some shelters, ask about the space they have and if you can borrow some humane traps and then take them over there.

    Do NOT call Animal Control.  They'll just kill the cats.

    PLEASE, DO NOT KILL THESE CATS.  TAKE THEM TO A SHELTER OR FIND HOMES FOR THEM.

    Good luck!!!

  5. well if you REALLY did love animals you would not care if they were ugly or crippled or diseased you would care for them any way if you think your resposible or these cats then take care of them the right way and feed them across the street. but if you only feel bad for your self and not thinking of what the cats are going though then your being selfish. imagine what the cats are going though :starvation and disease. help them, feed them ,care for them and if you don't want to help them then fine its your problem.

  6. Follower of cloud, the animal control, officers do not kill them, they take them to the shelter. If they can not find a home they will be killed.

  7. Just shoot 'em all.

  8. you don't need to put up a fence to keep them out its your property and people get really mad when you shoot them so don't tell anyone if you do if you squirt them with a presser washer they wont come back

  9. I have 2 dogs but have taken pity on 3 cats, one that I have taken in but I am allergic and two that I allow to live on my porch.  There was also a cat lady who's house was torn down.  Her cats have gone to various neighbors.  I love all animals too. Take pity on these poor cats and either call the shelter to see if they will set traps or do it yourself and turn them in.  Unfortunately not enough owners spay their pets.
