  2. Literature is not about what is pretty today, or cool today, or about the topics of the day, but about those things that really matter. What makes a classic a classic is that people read it when all its contemporaries and the immediate memory of society are gone.

  3. In my opinion this quote deals with topics which touch our humanity and make us feel our inner self.  These are universal themes that are ageless because it makes no difference who you are or where you're from, these issues are ubiquitous in nature.
