CBT for motorbikes (U.K only answers please)?

I've heard that If you obtained your car licence before 1 February 2001 you do not need to complete a CBT to ride a moped/scooter. Is this true? I've held a full uk driving license since 1993 and Im thinking about getting a scooter (will be my first one) can I get away without having to do the cbt?

  1. Yes. If you have kept your licence up to date and no misses.


  2. yep its true you wont need l plates and you can carry a passenger as long as the moped has foot rests
