CC Sabathia set to make spring debut on Friday- MLB Update
New York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia will make his Spring Training debut on Friday. He recently had a surgery to remove a bone spur in his left elbow but now feeling strong to make a good comeback in this year’s Grapefruit League.
“Felt good today, no problems, i felt strong. I'm ready to go, I'm working pretty hard and trying to throw all my pitches and make it as game-like as possible. I'm getting good work out of it. Hopefully, I can just keep getting stronger, velocity gets better
every time and I'll have something to work with instead of 88 [mph] this year,” Sabathia said with detail.
He added with more confidence explaining more about his current health, “I feel like we needed to keep the runs down and pitch well anyway, so this is no added pressure, I think we as a staff put a lot of pressure on ourselves to pitch well.”
Sabathia had a good last season where he achieved 3.38 ERA along with 15-6 win loss, 197 strikeouts and 1.14 and 1.14 WHIP. Overall his career ERA 3.50 along with 191-102 win-loss, 2214 strikeouts and 1.22 WHIP also shows his good commitment with the game.
Experts say that Sabathia, who had recently a surgery in his left elbow, now will be more lethal in the next Major League outing.
Along with CC Sabathia, the New York Yankees have also some great starters in the roster who will try to make sure that their team get good results in the next big league’s outing.
The New York Yankees currently also have Phil Hughes along with Hiroki Kuroda and Andy Pettitte for making sure that their team’s morale remains high.
These three already did a very good job in the last Major League outing by showing great offensive techniques. Hughes achieved numbers by 4.23 ERA along with 16-13 win loss, 165 strikeouts and 1.26 WHIP.
Not only just in the last season, but Hughes’ overall career has also been on right track with his tremendous 4.39 ERA along with 52-36 win loss, 535 strikeouts and 1.29 WHIP.
