Question:

CCNA Exam Preparation?

Hi,

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I have taken CCNA once (64-801) and failed. The material wasn't bad as I studied REALLY hard. I think I was just hit by many things I didn't expect. Like the timing (the reason I failed, didn't finish). Also the sim problems, didn't know at what point to stop. For example, once I cld ping the remote host, I wld proceed to do "cleanup", like limiting the subnets that are routed over a trunk line etc.

I am planning to take it again, but I believe I will need an exam preparation tool that is AS CLOSE to the actual exam as possible: Timing, sim problems, MANY tests, study materials, the works. Does something like that exist? Which would you recommend? What did I do wrong and what do you feel I can do to improve?

Also are there any peculiar pitfalls to look out for? Long story short I don't wanna take the exam again, so anything to help will be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

  4. On the sim questions, don't do anything that you're not asked to do.  You don't get points for "cleanup".

Use the Cisco CCNA website. It's free and teaches you what Cisco wants you to know for the exam.
