  1. You have to be at least 21 years old

    You have to take classes.

You can usually take the classes at a local sportsman's club

    The class costs about $125

The permit application is about $125

The passport sized photos are about $15

Plan on spending at least $250-$300.

  2. State Requirements

    1. 21 years of age or older

    2. Citizen of the United States or an alien lawfully admitted into the United States

    3. Resident of Michigan for not less than six months

    4. Successful completion of a pistol safety training course

    5. Not subject to an order or disposition for any of the following: Mental health order Legally incapacitated Involuntary hospitalization Found not guilty by reason of insanity

**** plus much more... all available at the Michigan State Police website (which also has the application information)

The classes run about $150 - but that depends on where you take it.
