Ok so i just had a huge virus outbreak yesterday and i think i have it under control. Still my computer is VERY VERY slow. I got rid of Antivirus xp 2008, but it still shows up in Star>Programs. I know i got rid of it because my wallpaper is fine now, but is it still safe?

My Setup so far is....

-Avast home edition

-MalewareBytes (cautious about this, its lagging a lot)

-SuperantiSpyware

-CCleaner

On ccleaner though on the part where i clean my computer it says files can be permanatley deleted. Does that mean the infected files only, or any random file?

  1. CCleaner is NOT a virus/malware cleaner. It is a system cleaner. It just cleans out unnecessary files like temp files and such. I have used it for several years on different machines and never had a problem. Just be sure to look at what is going to be deleted before clicking on the "clean" button.
