CD/DVD Drive won't doesn't recognize any of my discs

Question

I have Windows Vista HP Pavilion desktop. Whenever I try putting a dvd in the drive or a game disc, the autoplay window doesn't pop up. I go to the my computor icon and try to open it up there, but it doesn't say there's any disc in it... and if it doesn't say that, it just starts to not respond. I don't know when this problem began, but it's been going on for months now... and I only desperately want it working now is because Spore comes out in a month so... help!

Try using a dollar store wet cleaner to clean your cd drives.

or check your interface cables to make sure they are seated properly.

Or try a known good cable to see if that's the problem.

I think you need to get a new CD/DVD Drive now.
