CD DVD RW NOT BEING SEEN IN MY COMPUTER

LITE ON dvdrw sos-852s i have this drive in a pacard bell laptop the other day i turned on the comp and the dvd drive had gone ???? so i turned off the machine and took out the drive and uninstalled it turned back on it found the drive straight away and installed it of course! now its gone again please help i have looked at forums and it looks like alot of people are the same !!!!"help me"!!!!
