CD Drive Opens With Difficulty

Question

I opened my CD Drive by inserting a paper clip into the small hole that opens in manually, but now that it's open, it will not open and close smoothly! It won't read the CD's either, but I think this has something to do with the fact that it has difficulty opening and closing.

I can feel it hitting something as it opens and closes (which I have to do by hand). It feels like some sort of ridges on the thing you place the CD on.
