It seems to take the disk in and it spins I think but it doesn't

read the disk.

The driver doesn't come up in my computer neither.

  1. Have you tried different disks? It may just be a problem with the CD/DVD. If you have tried it with several, then you might have to get an external disk drive [can be quite expensive, but i think they are cheaper than getting the one in the laptop fixed/replaced. It's harder to mend laptops]

  2. take it some where and have it fixed. if you have a warranty with the store you got it from they'll do it for free.

  3. The laser is broken

its very common you need to replace the drive

or buy an external dvd drive and hook it up thru

    usb cable

    it may still copy cds/dvds

there are 2 lasers in the drive one

is for copying and the other is for

    playing

its just worn from use happens all the time

  4. Try doing a system restore back to a date when it did work, could be just the driver gone dodgy

  5. It may be broken, so you should get a new one.
