CD1 4 days after last provera tablet.......

today is cycle day 1 for me. this is my 4th day off of my last provera tablet. i haven't had a period since march 18 (5 months), my bleeding has been very light today and only dark brown.... no red or pink at all. now i know brown blood is old blood which makes sense since i haven't had a period in 5 months (they are always late). my periods never start out with brown blood though, and i am wondering if they will get heavier and more red in the coming day or so? this is my first time ever taking provera, and i am to start clomid on days 3-7 so it is a little confusing right now. im guessing this is my real period? will the provera make it brown and really light the first day or so? im hoping its not so light that by tomorrow it will have stopped??? help!

  1. I also took Provera after 5 months of not cycling and had a similar period to the one your describing.  It was a year ago so it's a bit hard to remember if it got heavier and/or more red or not.  I don't think Provera itself makes it brown, it's just your body getting rid of the lining that's been in there for a long time.  If your body wasn't cycling I really wound't be concerned about a 1 or 2 day period...even if it stays brown.  The good news is that you're having one and can start Clomid soon.  I did 6 cycles of Clomid and ovulated sucessfully each cycle.  Now that I've been off for 8 months I'm having regular cycles on my own.  Best of luck!!!
