CDC and FDA cannot locate source of salmonella outbreak in 3 months. Is this typical of the Bush govt.?

The outbreak started in April and the full might of the FDA and CDC cannot locate the source after 3 months of searching.

What is this country coming to?

Is the health of Americans on the backburner compared to Iraq? And isn't it ironic that Iraq is ultimately supposed to be about protecting Americans?

If the FDA cannot protect us from salmonella, what does that tell us about the govt. protecting us from terrorists?

It's typical government no matter who is in the Whitehouse. I think most people know this is coming from Mexico. Unfortunately, we also import oil from Mexico. My guess would be that the CDC and the FDA are to shut up about this so it doesn't hurt the produce sales from Mexico. If it shuts down the produce like tomatoes from Mexico, they just may shut off the oil to the U.S.

The tomato scare was was blown completely out of proportion to promote corporate interests. How many people became ill or died from the tomatoes? How many people in the country? How many people killed each year in auto accidents?

Learn about who controls the published "science", the media and the FDA. Corporate interests are again brainwashing the people to accept something injurious to their well being.

It is about chemical companies lobbying for laws requiring mandatory food irradiation. I discussed it more thoroughly in my answer to this media question a couple of days ago.

For the chemical companies to achieve their end, we the people must first become convinced that irradiation is necessary. This year's scare ... tomatoes.

P.S. The idea that this could be terrorism is yet another tactic of the criminal elements inside the government to keep the overblown war on terror alive.  They are good - kill two birds with one stone - keep the people afraid of terrorists and allow the chemical companies make obscene profits by tainting our food.  They are good...I give them that!

Most of the personnel in both of those agencies are career civil servants who hired on long before George Walker Bush was sworn in as President. What has to now be determined is whether any of the storage warehouses are in districts where the local Member of Congress either "tweaked" inspection laws and regulations or interfered with the inspection cycle to prevent such inspections. Despite the presence of the "instant on" switch on the TV real life events do take a bit longer than 27 minutes, 30 seconds (plus commercials) to be resolved.
