Taking a skills test next week. The pre-trip inspection list is like a mile long. Are you allowed to use a check list or reference sheet that just reminds you of everything you need to include in your inspection so that you don't forget anything? Or do you have to memorize the whole inspection list on top of being able to point everything out and verify the condition of each part?? Please help if you have any knowledge of this. I don't want to depend on a "cheat sheet" if I won't be able to use it. Thanks for your help!

  1. No, you can not use a 'cheat sheet'.  Better get memorizing.  Try to set up a routine that takes you around the truck... from driver's door around to driver's door... and don't forget inside the cab !

  2. Took mine here in Ohio back in 01, wasn't allowed to back then, my uncle took his 3 months ago and he wasn't either. Here's a tip, they will not take off if you mention too many parts, cover all of your bases. People usually forget the play in the steering wheel and side view mirrors on the inside. Take your time and do it right ;) See ya on the road "driver"

  3. never could use one when i took the test and definately still can't here in canada.
