CDROM/CMOSS

cd rom NOT showing in CMOS setup,showing as NONE.
therefore unable to access hard drive.which is showing in CMOSS as correct, 40gb. CDROM powers up but does register.very frustrating.help.
PC laptop.MEDION/MD40675/ADVENT 7035.
