  1. To the yahoo member BART...  WoW what rock have you crawled out under?  I feel very sorry for you.  You should expand your horizons and step out of the dark ages..  There are plenty of women who could go toe to toe with you mentally and in the career arena and out step you honey!

  2. The Saudis like doing things their way; and the biggest overall complaint I have heard so far is that the women aren't allowed to drive. To some Saudi women, truth be told they believe the Western Feminists are behind times; especially, when it comes to owning businesses, having rights to their own money, divorce and the keeping of the maiden name; things which Saudi women under Islam have been doing for centuries. http://www.themodernreligion.com/women/w...  The problem is the Arab culture, which is nothing at all like the religion they all claim to follow.

  3. If I understand the CEDAW correctly, all governments that sign will be held accountable by having gender equality written as articles in their constitution.

These national laws would be treated the same as international treaties. International treaties like CEDAW can be brought in to take precedence over national laws that are ineffective in gaining gender equity.

Personally, I don't want our country or any of our allies making ANY legislation that would have precedence over our own laws.

This trend would make our own constitution ineffective.
