CELL - S2200 Beginner Road Bike?

I'm just getting into cycling and have been looking around and i was just wondering if someone could tell me if this bike is any good or just pile of ****.

  1. I would be very very cautious about buying a bike where the don't list the specific components.  For example, it just says "Shimano" under the derailleurs, which means they could be very low end c**p.  Another odd thing is that no one uses downtube shifters anymore; it's very old fashioned.  

    Overall, it's a very basic bike, and nothing to be impressed by.  Save your money and buy something better from a local store with a brand you've actually heard of.


  2. go to your LBS (if you live near a couple of different shops, check them all out) and check out their entry level road bikes. this bike is nothing near the Giant OCR it compares itself to! check out Giant, Specialized, Trek, Felt, and others with quality entry-mid range lines. you also need to be professionally fitted to your bike. you'll abandon the sport if your bike doesn't fit you. when you're just getting started, it is not advisable to shop online, as you arent experienced enough to know what you're looking at. honestly, I'd pay $350 again for my 25 year old Panasonic touring bike, before I paid $500 for that Cell..
