CEV Jury inspects arrangements for Youth European Championship in Turkey
The influential final round of the 2011 CEV Girls’ Youth European Championship is around the corner.
The final phase of the championship is set to be kicked off on fast approaching Saturday, April 30, 2011. After the successful completion of the qualifiers in various European cities in the month of January, the CEV Youth European Championship has finally
made it to the city of Ankara, Turkey.
The final round will be staged at the TVF Complex and the campaign will officially cover its length from April 30 to May 8.
Since Ankara is the host of this important round, the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) had a big daunting task of setting up the best arrangements for the athletes. TVF has done an excellent work and TVF Sports Complex is ready to host the action.
In this regard, a Jury of Confederation European de Volleyball (CEV) carried out an inspection of venues today (Thursday, April 28, 2011). The Jury was headed by CEV Vice President Dr. Jan Hronek, who was accompanied by other top officials of CEV.
The President of Turkish Volleyball Federation, Erol Unal Karabiyik received the international delegation with open arms. He thanked all of them for visiting Ankara, beautiful capital city of Turkey.
The members of the Jury were greatly pleased with the reception and hospitality. They visited the Bestepe and Baskent Sports Halls, which are scheduled to host the Pool I and Pool II matches, respectively. Everyone on the Jury praised the good work of TVF.
Meanwhile, Hronek, the President of CEV expressed great satisfaction about the arrangements. He appreciated the efforts of Turkish Volleyball Federation to maintain an international standard.
He stated, “We are really pleased with the quality of the facilities available here in Ankara and since this Championship is coming only a few days after the boys’ competition, the local staff is well trained and so I expect that the competition will really
run smoothly here. I only wish that we will have more spectators than last week and also, for the local organizers, that their team will enjoy a higher rank at the end of the Championship.”
Making best use of the opportunity, TVF President Karabiyik invited the Jury to the “World Children’s Games,” which are currently underway in Turkey. The tour was a total success and TVF received great comments from the Jury members. TVF plans to continue
the great work for the promotion of volleyball.
