CEV determines host countries for third-round qualifiers – Volleyball news
Following the successful completion of Small Countries Division and first two rounds of the CEV Junior Volleyball Championship, the Confederation European de Volleyball (CEV) has unveiled the venues for the upcoming third-round qualifiers.
According to the recent news, Italy and France will host the men’s Pool E and F matches whereas the women’s third round matches will take place in Bulgaria and Belgium. The third-round qualifiers in both men’s and women’s categories will run through July
12-15. The host countries have been announced but the exact match venues and detailed schedule of the tournament will be disclosed in coming few days.
The Chairman of the European Sports Organising Commission (ESOC) Mr. Pierre Mulheims determined the host countries for the next round of the Junior Volleyball Championship.
France completed the second round of the tournament in Pool C alongside teams from Slovenia, Romania, Estonia, host Czech Republic, and Spain. French team clinched second spot in the pool rankings and the ESOC assigned the runner-up team with this daunting
task to arrange the next round competition. France will be joined by Austria, Ukraine and Finland in the third round of the tournament.
Likewise, Pool F matches will be held in the small town of Zocca in Italy. The host Italy will go against Slovenia, the Netherlands, and German in the next round. Italy will have a fair chance to make it to the final round by using the home advantage. Zocca
has already played host to 2009 Girls’ Youth European Championship and has the experience of conducting international campaigns.
In the women’s section, Belgium will be hosting third-round qualifiers in the outskirts of Brussels. Teams from Romania, Germany, and Austria will accompany Belgium in the third round. Furthermore, Bulgaria will also play host to the Pool F, where it will
be joined by the likes of Croatia, Finland and France. Bulgarian town of Gabrovo will provide the backdrop for the matches.
The volleyball enthusiasts are desperately waiting for the action to begin as the successful teams of third-round will advance to the final round and eventually two tops in each gender category will vie for the European title.
