Question:

CFL's and Photo Sensor?

I have my whole house CFL'd but there is one place I seem to have overlooked along with a bit of a problem. My porch light is equipped with a photo sensor for daytime/nightime, automated on/off features. Would CFL's work on it safely? Thanks for any info.

  1. I saw that you found the answer and i wanted to add that I use those lights throught my house to and the only place i noticed a problem was a indoor motion switch i put in with some cfl's on it and i got some buzzing on the circuit breaker , but I have a post light with a photo eye on it and i use a cfl in it and have no problems and I also use them in my motion lights outside, They work pretty well in the photo eyes so I would not be worried about using them in a photo eye controlled light and I recommend using them to my customers ( I'm a electrician)
