I believe this question was posed by Brian Williams to the CFL Commish and he said that it was one of his priorities to try and see it happen. It wouldn't be too hard from EA's perspective. They already have the football engine and logic. It shouldn't be a big deal to change a couple rules, change the field size, and add the teams. When you look at it that way it might be profitable so long as the NFL version is programmed in such a way that these changes are somewhat easy to make.

Personally I would buy any console that a CFL game were made for just to get the game. Remember that they make an NHL game which they have to make from scratch and it doesn't get too many sales outside of Canada.

They wouldn't spend the money on development, but it would be hella cool.

That would be cool, but I suspect that the NFL's lawyers would shut down that venture unless it was a Canadian company making the product.  But the NFL might have legal say up here, too.

No, but they should put CFL teams in Madden so that you can play with them, just like they do with NFL Europe

I think that would be great. People in Canada may want to play video games for their favorite teams, not just NFL teams. I also think this would make the sports more popular to people in the USA. They would still buy the game and it would get more popular. It would help out the whole League overall.

Of course it would be really hard with all of the money and things like that. I would love to see it happen, but it's unlikely.

Won't happen.  There's no money in it but it would be nice if they could do it just for those of us who love the Canadian game.

I personally would like to see it, however I too believe there just isn't enough interest in it for EA to spend all the money to build the game.

definitely YES!

if EA sports, made that game, it'd be amazing! their technology makes a great product.   And im sure that EA could easily implement the different rule changes, and have better refs. hint hint. but...

besides, i think it could only help the CFL.  if EA made this game, Canadians would buy this game, and it may even spark more interest in the States.  Face it, a majority of ppl in the States almost have no clue what CFL football truly is.  But if the game goes North American,  what the heck? right, more interest, more cash flow.   possible better product for the CFL itself, and if more interest, more cash flow, possibly that could lead to expansion across Canada, and who doesn't want to see expansion?  

And not to mention, Canadian fans would then have a better understanding of players on the field, and not just from broadcast games.
