  1. First of all at 13 years old you are not old enough to change your name by deed poll. You have to be 16 by law.

Here in England you can change your name by deed poll at the register office where your birth was registered, the total cost is £40:00 and there is no longer any need for the service of a solicitor.

  2. i live in wales uk my grandaughter changed her name by deed pool but you need a solicitir to be legal the cost was about £100  pound

  3. My brother wanted to change his last name a bit too, to make it back to the origional way it was spelled in Ireland. ( they messed it up when our descendants were at Ellis Island, and our gr,gr,gr grandfather was too poor to change it back)

You only need to look in the phone book, find a business lawyer, *not hard to do at all, like looking up a dentist* , and have about $100.00 for legal fees. It shouldn't cost more than $75.00, but times have changed, it may have gone up a bit. So have at least 100.00. Then make an appointment, show up, they help fill out your legal form, and you pay them. Then in the newspaper, for 3 days in a row, in the want adds, your new name will appear in fine print, no one will notice, and then you have a new name!

Just remember, do NOT lose the court document, as you will need it for a few years to prove you have changed your name legally, like for when you get your Driver's permit and liscense, and school.

And that's all there is to it. Its that simple.
